We’d love to introduce you to one of our incredible TBG teaching artists, Scott Organ! Read our interview with him below…

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
SO: As a playwriting teacher, I enjoy witnessing the moment playwrights unlock something both surprising and inevitable in their writing. As an acting teacher, I enjoy the inevitable moment an adjustment changes a scene, affects the story, and brings out surprising and real behavior.
What is a TBG tool you love to use in your own acting journey?
SO: I often return to script analysis as an actor and writer, particularly thinking about the shape of a scene. Where does the scene end? Okay, so we probably start somewhere far away from there. A scene is a journey and change happens within the scene.
What is a project that you’ve been a part of that you are proud of?
SO: I have a new play, Diversion, which will be going up at Premiere Stages at Keane University in September, followed hopefully by an NYC production. (Editor’s Note: Diversion was part of TBG’s recent Spring Reading Series!)
